(EPS:J Manoharan)CHENNAI: Legendary Sri Lankan spinner Muthiah Muralitharan who retired from the shorter version of the game after the ICC World Cup is gearing up to play for Kochi team in the IPL IV which begins with the Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders team here on Friday. He has fond memories of playing with Chennai Super Kings and is sure that the Dhoni led side despite the changes in the line-up will be the team to beat in IPL 1V as well. Murali was in the city to inaugurate a cricket academy. When asked to pick his favourite team in the IPL IV, Murali believed that there were two to three contenders. “As of now, CSK looks brighter as most of the team stays on except me and Balaji. Mumbai Indians looks good too. Bangalore and Hyderabad are also strong sides. But it’s T-20 and one can never say who is the best, It all depends on the performance that day,” opined Murali. He had a word of praise for Dhoni and believed that India played well and rightfully won the Cup.He believes that Angelo Matthews is good captaincy material and had a word of praise for Sangakara. “Sangakara was a great captain. I think he quit captaincy keeping in mind the 2015 World Cup. A young player can be groomed to be the next captain. Angelo Matthews can be a good captain. He is just 22 and can play for another 10 years,” said Muralitharan.
