KOCHI: On a high after their maiden and upset win over Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, debutants Kochi Tuskers Kerala coach Geoff Lawson on Saturday sounded a warning to the opponents, saying the fledgeling team can beat anyone.

"It was a great challenge to beat Mumbai Indians in Mumbai. If we can beat Mumbai Indians in Mumbai, we can beat anyone," he told reporters as the Mahela Jayawardene-led team arrived here to a rousing welcome.

Lawson was all praise for Brendon McCullum whose 60-ball 81, studded with 10 fours and two sixes, helped Kochi Tuskers to overhaul Mumbai Indians' imposing total of 182.

In their two earlier outings, the Kochi outfit tasted defeats against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors.

The team would be crossing swords with title holders Chennai Super Kings on Monday.

Jayawardene and other team members refused to speak to media persons.

Temperamental Indian pacer S Sreesanth said 'adipoli, adipoli' (Great, Great) about Friday's match as he walked away.

The team members were given a warm reception by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) soon after arrival from Mumbai.
